Send a Taste of Scotland to Australia & New Zealand
Homesickness has a flavour. For Scots in Sydney, Auckland, Melbourne or Wellington, it tastes of buttery shortbread, a Tunnock’s Teacake with a cup of tea, and the unmistakable fizz of IRN-BRU from a glass bottle.
Sending Scottish food to the other side of the world is not as simple as posting a parcel. Australia and New Zealand operate some of the strictest biosecurity rules anywhere, and plenty of gifts sent with the best intentions never make it past the border. That is exactly why this collection exists.
Every hamper here has been built specifically to travel. Each one is hand-packed in Falkirk by our family-run team, filled with long-life Scottish baking, confectionery and chocolate from makers like Tunnock’s, Mrs Tilly’s and Duncan’s of Deeside — and designed to arrive on the other side of the world tasting exactly as it should.
Built to Travel: How This Collection Works
Fresh cheese, smoked salmon, cured meats and alcohol cannot be sent to Australia or New Zealand — customs will stop them, and nobody wants a birthday gift held at the border. So rather than risk it, we have done the thinking for you.
This collection contains only hampers that clear biosecurity cleanly: traditional Scottish shortbread, biscuits, tablet, fudge, boiled sweets and artisan chocolate, all with generous best-before dates and no restricted ingredients. Every box is alcohol-free by design, which also makes them a safe choice for any household.
It is a smaller range than our UK collections, and deliberately so. If your recipient lives in the UK, our full sweet hampers range is available with next-day delivery. For friends and family elsewhere, we also send Scottish hampers to Europe and Scottish gifts to the USA and Canada.
The Hampers We Send to Australia & New Zealand
The Wee Yin – Scottish Sweet Treats Box
The one for the expat who misses the corner shop. Tunnock’s Teacakes and Caramel Wafers, Duncan’s of Deeside shortbread, Mrs Tilly’s fudge and macaroon bars, a ribbon-tied bag of Gordon & Durward soor plooms, Mackie’s chocolate — and a full glass bottle of IRN-BRU. If someone you love has been away from Scotland too long, this is the box that brings it all rushing back.
The Biscuit Box
Made for the tea drinker. Island Bakery lemon melts baked on the Isle of Mull sit alongside Wooleys of Arran raspberry-infused cranberry rounds, Tunnock’s Teacakes and Caramel Logs, and a box of Duncan’s of Deeside shortbread. It is the afternoon tea tin of a Scottish granny, posted to the other side of the world.
The Chocolate & Biscuit Box
The most indulgent of the smaller boxes. Salted caramel fudge coated in milk chocolate, a salted caramel chocolate bar, buttery Duncan’s shortbread and Wooleys of Arran ginger rounds with a proper warming kick. A strong choice when the occasion calls for chocolate rather than nostalgia.
Luxury Box of Treats
The showpiece of the collection. Mrs Tilly’s traditional tablet, a nine-piece chocolate selection, Marc de Champagne truffles and milk chocolate salted caramel fudge, presented gift-ready. When the gift needs to feel like an occasion in itself — a milestone birthday, an anniversary, a big thank you — this is the one to send.
Scottish Gifts for Every Occasion, Wherever They Have Landed
Birthdays Across the Time Zones
You cannot be there to hand over the gift, but a box of Scottish treats landing on their doorstep says you remembered — and went to real effort. Add a free personalised message at checkout and it arrives with your words, not just your name.
Christmas in the Sunshine
Christmas dinner on the beach still deserves shortbread and tablet afterwards. International delivery and customs checks take time, so order Christmas hampers for Australia and New Zealand well ahead of December — the earlier the better.
Burns Night & St Andrew’s Day
Haggis cannot cross the border, but the spirit of the night certainly can. Shortbread, tablet and a glass bottle of IRN-BRU let far-flung Scots raise a toast on 25 January, even 10,000 miles from home.
A Taste of Home, Just Because
Some of the most appreciated hampers we send have no occasion attached at all. A box of Tunnock’s and Mrs Tilly’s arriving out of the blue tells someone in Brisbane or Christchurch they are missed — and that is often the whole point.

FAQs — Scottish Hampers to Australia & New Zealand
Why doesn’t this collection include cheese, whisky or smoked salmon?
- Australian and New Zealand biosecurity rules prohibit importing cheese, meat, fish and alcohol in gift parcels, so this collection only includes treats that clear customs cleanly and arrive without delays.
What kind of Scottish treats can you send to Australia and New Zealand?
- Long-life favourites such as Duncan’s of Deeside shortbread, Tunnock’s Teacakes and Caramel Wafers, Mrs Tilly’s tablet and fudge, traditional boiled sweets and artisan Scottish chocolate.
Will the treats stay fresh during international delivery?
- Yes — every item in this collection is ambient and long-life, chosen specifically because it travels well and arrives with plenty of time left on its best-before date.
