Scottish Cheddar accounts for 70-80% of total output. The leading Scottish creameries are located in Lockerbie, Stranraer, and Campbeltown, as well as on the islands of Bute, Arran, Islay, Mull, Gigha, and Orkney. Many of the smaller creameries are open to visitors and have a shop where you can buy local products.
